For many years, the Trinidad brand was solely given to high-ranking foreign guests as a Cuban official gift. It wasn't until 1998 that it became available to smokers all over the world, albeit in restricted numbers, and it has since captivated demanding Habano connoisseurs.
Trinidad, founded in 1969, demonstrates that 50 years of existence, far from being a period for nostalgia, may possibly turn into a renaissance, and to commemorate this, it has introduced three new vitolas: Esmeralda (53 x 145 mm long), Media Luna (50 x 115 mm long), and Topes (50 x 115 mm long) (56 x 125 mm long). The first two are unique in Habanos' normal portfolio, while the last was introduced as a Limited Edition in 2016, to critical acclaim, and incorporates the 56 ring for the first time in the brand's repertoire.
These vitolas stand out for being prepared "Totally by Hand with Tripa Larga," following a meticulous selection of capa, tripa, and capote leaves from the greatest vegas in the Vuelta Abajo* area, in the province of Pinar del Ro*, Cuba*.
The name of the brand is a reference to the town of Santsima Trinidad, which goes back to the 16th century on the country's southern coast and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Although it began with simply the Fundadores label, it extended its range in 2003 with the introduction of Reyes, Coloniales, and Robusto Extra. A new image was also developed to match the exceptional quality of its Habanos, and in 2014 it included the new Viga vitola (54 x 110 mm long).
Trinidad Esmeralda, Media Luna, and Topes come at the XXI Habano Festival in the brand's traditional varnished Semi Boite Nature (SBN) box, each containing 12 pieces, to give a refined choice to those who like larger proportions and shorter smokes. Let's light up one of these Habanos and toast to their half-century of life.
